Howie – Like she cares about the Navy, or the military in general. You’d be as screwed as the firefighters with her.

Kudos to the newly appointed firefighters and their attorneys. Finally, truth, justice and the American way wins out. Looks like this is Sotomayor’s “Inconvenient Truth” as a wise, Latina woman.

What I think is telling about the test is that one firefighter put extensive effort into doing as well as he could on the test, as he is dyslexic. If anything, he was not at any more of an advantage than anyone else. He likely had to do more and by doing as well as he did on the test earned his spot.

(Not sure that came out how I intended.)

Glad the ruling came down when it did.

Since the City of Philadelphia rarely, if ever, obeys Court orders, this decision will have little effect on us.

Jon – No, whites are only remembered for owning slaves. Never for helping free them. I guess Sotomayor didn’t learn that lesson when she was filled with “Latina wisdom.”

The really good point is that with this decision the ongoing discrimination against whites will now hopefully come to a screeching halt. Maybe that part of me that wanted to build a time machine and go back to tell my ancestor killed at Antietam to switch sides
because they will never appreciate your sacrifice can rest easy now.
