NYC Pro-Palestinian Rally Turns Violent
By Wyatt Earp | January 12, 2009

Wow, who would have thought that people who support the Palestinian cause would resort to violence? I am shocked and appalled!
NEW YORK — At least nine protesters were arrested in a pro-Palestinian rally Sunday afternoon in New York that injured seven police officers, authorities said.
The extent of injuries varied from minor to serious, New York police said. Two officers sustained head injuries.
Friggin’ animals!
In a statement, the NYPD said the officers were injured when trying to break up a fight between two demonstrators.
“While attempting to separate the males, several others joined in and began to assault the officers,” the statement said.
The demonstrators had gathered on Manhattan’s West Side on Sunday afternoon to protest the Israeli incursion in Gaza. The rally began peacefully, but skirmishes between police and demonstrators eventually broke out, witnesses said.
And naturally, the bad guy here is the NYPD, not the “peaceful” protesters, right CNN?
Steve Sherman, coordinator of security for United for Peace and Justice and a demonstrator at the rally, said police maced demonstrators. (H/T – CNN)
Friggin’ right they did. What would this hippie scumbag have expected them to do, stand by why they were assaulted by a bunch of anti-Semites? Nope, not gonna happen.
The first thing they teach you in the police academy is that you don’t get paid to take a punch. Looks like the NYPD took care of business. Good for them.

It’s too bad that mace wasn’t of the club variety.

Where are the water cannons when you need them?
God bless the NYPD for the work they do.

Sheesh. No comment about the fight that started it all in the first place.

Steve Sherman is full of s**t. I seriously doubt the NYPD maced anyone. Everyone uses pepper spray now, because it hurts a whole lot more. Hopefully it was a brand like Fox or Saber Red. I would hate to think that our first line of defense carries something weak.

JoeMama – Yeah, there’s nothing like a good spiked club.
Dinah – Water cannons, nail guns. Whatever works.
Doghouse – Well, that would just help the NYPD’s case. We can’t have that now, can we?
Marvin – Of course they didn’t mace everyone. The NYPD knew this event would be covered by television and print media, so they wouldn’t go full bore on a crowd.

In London:
Anti-Israeli demonstrations end in violence towards the police and repeated attacks on the Isreali Embassy.
Pro-Israeli demonstration the following day? The police did not know what had hit them. NOTHING! Totally peaceful, many of the demonstrators FOR Israel middle aged and elderly. Police said they had never known a demonstration like it.
Sort of says something …

Alan B – And their silence is deafening. Good for them
Admiral – Nope. Not at all.
