Trick-Or-Treater Shot To Death

By Wyatt Earp | November 1, 2008

And he was shot through the door . . . by an ex-convict . . . with an AK-47 . . . who thought he was going to be robbed.

Really?

I call shananigans.

SUMTER, South Carolina — An ex-convict who said he thought he was being robbed gunned down a 12-year-old trick-or-treater, spraying nearly 30 rounds with an assault rifle from inside his home after hearing a knock on the door, police said Saturday.

Quentin Patrick, 22, is accused of killing 12-year-old T.J. Darrisaw on Friday night. T.J.’s 9-year-old brother, Ahmadre Darrisaw, and their father, Freddie Grinnell, were injured but were released after being treated at a hospital.

The family attended a Halloween celebration in downtown Sumter, 45 miles east of Columbia, then stopped at Patrick’s house because the porch light was on, police said. Another sibling was with them but wasn’t hurt.

Police said at least two of the boys were wearing ghoulish masks when they knocked on the door. The boys’ mother and a toddler stayed in the car nearby.

Patrick emptied his AK-47, shooting at least 29 times through his front door, walls and windows after hearing the knock, Police Chief Patty Patterson said. (H/TCNN)

Completely and utterly despicable. This man should be put in a cage for the rest of his life.

Oh, and cue the media placing the blame solely on the AK-47 in 4 . . 3 . . 2 . .

  1. In reality? It’ll be 23 years on SC’s death row before he’ll acquire another trial on a technicality and all the witnesses are dead or unlocateable.

    A real sick puppy.

  3. Joe Cool says:

A cage is too frikkin good!!! Plus a waste of money.

  4. Kim says:

You’re right that the media will blame the gun instead of the moron. More laws will be made.

Happening in Massachusetts right now because of a kid at a shooting range who accidentally shot and killed himself.

MORE LAWS! WE NEED MORE LAWS SO THE CRMINALS CAN FINALLY START OBEYING THEM AND WE CAN ALL LIVE IN PEACE AND TRANQUILITY!

  5. Easily Lost says:

If you’re going to cage him, please, pretty please, can you slowly lower that cage into a pool filled with piranhas?

  6. Diller says:

I’m sure this piece of human crap, got a he’s ready to exist in society, from the SC parole board. It never changes.

  7. Shannon says:

Hmmm…ex-con. Was he a felon by chance? Afterall, felons aren’t allowed to have guns – and we all know that the criminals are the ones that follow the law AND NEVER buy weapons illegally.

Yep, time for MORE GUN CONTROL!!! Guns are evil…

    /end sarcasm

Too bad that the worst that will happen to this scum is sitting in a climate controlled cage getting three square meals a day and free medical care. Time to bring back Old Sparky…a needle in the arm is too easy for this animal.

  8. marvin says:

I wonder what he was strung out on at the time, that made him so unaware what day it was? It was probably the chemicals in his brain and not the AK that caused this incident. We should totally outlaw those, then no one will ever be able to get any mind altering chemicals.

  9. Anonymous Person says:

Disgusting! I hope they lock him up and through away the key. “Thought he was being robbed…” and that gives him the right to blast off this AK-47 at least 29 times though his doors, walls and windows without having any idea who or what was on the other side of them? Idiot!

And yeah that is just classic for this sort of thing to be brought up addressing Gun Control and not MURDER! Damn America will never cease to baffle me!

Poor kid. I wish his family and friends peace and love and I wish this moron DEATH! But even if he gets Death Row it’d be too good, they should stand him up and shoot him down, 29 times as he did that kid.

Hmm, gotta call BS on this story.

I don’t see any mention of his mommy telling the media what a good boy he is.

    VERY suspicious.
