Pelosi can push through almost any legislation? And what would be the next step then? They have a clear majority, so they can override the Bush veto, right? Or is that incorrect. Seems to me that Bush vetos alot, and the majority of one can’t seem to find the votes in the Republican side to make them stick. Not much of a majority, is it?

I will be so happy when BDS is a thing of the past. I have my share of problems with some of the things Bush has done, but’s congress who has sat on their butts and mostly done nothing.

As far as drilling is concerned, it would do nothing? So, we would drill, get oil, and throw it back into the ocean? Don’t be absurd. Of course it will not produce enough to meet our needs, but it would alleviate some of the demand. We drill in the gulf and AMWR until we can get the alternative energy plans off the ground.

Of course, that would mean relocating your precious endangered polar bears, so . . .

Oh, and when President Bush lifted the executive ban on offshore drilling, oil prices dropped. All we need to do is threaten to drill, and prices will go down. That’s what we did in the late 70’s, and it worked then. Kissinger unveiled “Project Independence” on February 11, 1974, and on February 12, OPEC discussed lifting the oil embargo. On March 17, the embargo was lifted. We do that now, see prices go down, and work on alternative oil solutions.

BTW, what is Obama’s solution? He’s against, drilling, and against nuclear, but his website mentions no specifics on how we will quickly become energy independent – well, except for taxing our way to independence.

RT – I love it when liberals give all the power of government to President Bush. As if he can immediately say, “We’re doing this!” and Congress will just go along with it. Congress as a whole has done nothing to promote viable sources of energy since the late 70’s. We can’t use nuclear because it is “dangerous” – never mind that France gets almost all of its energy through nuclear – and we can’t use wind power because Ted Kennedy doesn’t want windmills littering his landscape.

Both sides are to blame, and they need to get their asses out of their heads.
