Bob – The Coast Guard goes everywhere the Navy goes, and has expertise in coastal matters. There have been CG cutters in the Middle East, Mediterranean areas for a while now.

Les – Agreed. They want to flex some muscle, but they’re deciding to squash a tiny former Soviet Republic to show how “powerful” they are.

Bob – Hell, then Russia should be getting ready to invade all of the Baltics at this point. Hell, why don’t we let them invade Poland, Sweden, and Finland, too?

Ostap – Well then, you’re gonna love the Obama administration. Obama sees us all as “citizens of the world.” You think he won’t do the exact same thing when the time comes?

About the aid, I live in New Jersey and I see some people barely making their ends these days around here. Can they send us some aid here too?! Maybe 20 million, just to start with? I’m sick of seeing how the Administration is wasting my tax money on regime changing, nation building, and nurishing #4&ing newly born democracies on the other side of the world while my son’s school looks like a barrack, half of people don’t have decent health insurance and cannot afford to live in the city.

You’re absolutely right! Russian bear has awakened and will protect it’s turf, or whatever it believes is it’s turf. That’s absolutely normal for a self aware, powerful state like Russia or the U.S. for that matter. Russians used NATO scenario in Kosovo almost to the letter, except in much more compressed time frame…

Bob this is a joke, right? Florida is next to Georgia. Didn’t you learn anything in school. Seriously, I spent time along the old East German and Czechoslovakian borders during the Cold War years. I noticed that the machine guns and vehicle traps weren’t there to keep us out, but the to keep them in. Suddenly a wall comes down and everyone is a liberty loving capitalist? Bull crap. The Russian Bear is still brown and still wants to shit in the rest of the free world’s woods. Wake up and smell the poo.
