Female Soldier Missing, Home Burned
By Wyatt Earp | July 11, 2008

Dear Lord, not again. Second Lieutenant Holley Wimunc is missing.
(CNN) — Authorities are searching for a female soldier missing after a fire burned her apartment near Fort Bragg in North Carolina.
Fayetteville police identified the missing soldier as 2nd Lt. Holley Wimunc, 24.
The fire at Wimunc’s apartment had gone out by the time authorities arrived at 9:22 a.m. Thursday, but investigators found evidence of arson, police said.
A neighbor, Roland Petty, told CNN affiliate WRAL-TV that he saw a man running from the area on Wednesday night and smelled smoke, although he didn’t associate it with the building at the time.
In a court filing for a protective order, Wimunc said that in May, her husband had knocked her down, held a loaded gun to her head and then threatened to commit suicide, WRAL reported. (H/T – CNN)
Jesus, it is really dangerous to be a female soldier nowadays, and the threats are not coming from insurgents, terrorists, or IEDs.
I hope to Hell I’m wrong, but my gut instinct is telling me she’s dead.

I agree. I think she probably is also. It is linked to things such as this:

It is just scary what is happening to these women. I think they develop a false sense of security and trust. Very sad.

Kim – Damned shame. Hoping for the best, but fearing the worst.
RT – Agreed. I think she’s gone. I hope I’m wrong.

Ya think they should maybe track down that husband of hers? My instinct says he could shed some light on the case.

MikeB – Almost always the lead suspect in a case like this. I hope he is found, post haste.
