TV? Check. Beer? Check. Chips? Check.

If you’re a sports fan, today may be the day for you. No less than three huge sporting events are on tap today, and I will be channel-surfing through them all.

Today is the final stage of the Tour de France. Spain’s Carlos Sastre (above) leads Cadel Evans by one minute, five seconds as the riders enter Paris. He did so after cleaning everyone’s clock during Saturday’s time trials. It was a thing of beauty to behold. Barring a Greg Norman-esque collapse, Sastre will win the Tour.
UPDATE: Congratulations, Carlos Sastre; the 2008 Tour de France champion! The Ouch Award goes to one rider -I didn’t get his name – who lost his bicycle seat during the final lap! That’s gotta suck.

I’m not a big Arena Football fan, but the Philadelphia Soul will be playing in Arena Bowl XXII this afternoon. The Soul had the best record in the league (11-3) and could bring Philly its first AFL championship ever.
Okay, it’s not the NFL, but the Soul have been playing better than the Eagles have in decades.
UPDATE: Philadelphia 59, San Jose 56. Congratulations to the Soul, the 2008 AFL Champions!

And last, but not least, NASCAR is invading Indianapolis this weekend for the Brickyard 400. It’s always cool when NASCAR runs at Indy, especially when Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon are starting in the top five. Heh. All we need now is a Danica Patrick tantrum . . .
UPDATE: Jimmie Johnson wins, Jeff Gordon takes 5th, and Dale Jr takes 12th. My three favorite drivers finishing in the top twelfth? Yeah, I’ll take it! Oh, and Goodyear’s tires sucked the entire race.

Giggity, giggity, giggity!

Some prime couch sitting entertainment.
No Danica tantrum yesterday in Edmonton. However, Graham Rahal had some choice words about a few of the rookie drivers after he was hit on lap 1 and then knocked out on about lap 50 by guys trying to make dumb passes.
Admiral – And since that’s all I am able to do, it’ll be a good day. The Tour was great, so the day is starting off strong. Unfortunately, I can’t play in our hockey playoff game tonight, though . . .
CP – That always irritates me. NASCAR rookies do that all the time. It’s a long race. Be patient!
I picked Jimmie!
Anybody but Shrub!
O.k. I keep going back and forth from the Arena Bowl to the race. Every time I go to the race, they are having another tire related caution. Geesh!
RT – I took Gordon.
Jeffro – Agreed. He won the Nationwide race last night. Kid’s on fire.
RT – The tires suck ass today, hence the cautions. The good news is that the Soul are up 46-27 in the 3rd Quarter!
Soul victory = free Bon Jovi concert = easy-to-pick-up drunken Jersey girls!!
Giggity-giggity THAT!
HEY!!!!!!!!!!!
I got kicked out of a free Bon Jovi concert when I was 16.
My friends and I were a little too rowdy.
Thank God that damned bicycle race is over. Maybe Versus will get back to shows worth watching now.
Trek – Jersey girls? Eh. Pass.
RT – Oh, I cannot imagine that!
Prof – The Tour was much more interesting when Lance was ruling the roost, but I still love watching it.
