What Time Is It?

By Wyatt Earp | June 29, 2008

Nice tight butt, Wyatt!

GAME TIME!

In two short hours, I’ll be back in my happy place: the ice rink. It’s our last game of the regular season, and after last week’s infuriating forfeit, I am chomping at the bit to get out and play some hockey. I’ve got a lot of energy since I dropped the poundage, and I’m ready to unleash it on our opponents. Step right up, chumps. Here comes the pain!

Okay, so I’m a little arrogant tonight, and why not? I’m in the best shape in my last ten years, I am psyched to play the game that I love, and I am completely exhausted from Poker Night and work today. I’m practically living off the caffeine, kids!!!

I can’t imagine how amped I’ll be after listening to Nirvana on the ride up, and drinking my pre-game Red Bull. LET’S GET IT ON!!!

(Editor’s Note: If I completely Shiite the bed tonight by missing an open net or blowing a defensive assignment, disregard this post.)

UPDATE: Okay, I didn’t entirely Shiite the bed. Yes, we did lose by a score of 5-3, and yes, I did fan on two passes that may have been goals had I connected, but as a whole, our team played very well. The Rink Rats are a good team, and they had a few ringers that skated circles around us. Personally, I skated very well tonight, and had a lot of hustle. I came back to play defense, and made a few terrific passes. I’m upset we lost, but I am not blaming myself. I played fairly well.

And to illustrate that point, the Rink Rats had a total of 54 shots on goal. 54!!! The Badger made 49 saves. He played out of his mind, considering we should have lost by ten goals. We stayed with the other team for two and a half periods, but fell by the wayside when we ran out of gas. Overall, I’m proud of our effort.

And if you think I don’t skate hard during my games, here’s the proof otherwise. The photo is not terrific, but it’s me, after the game.

RT – No, but it helped me skate like the wind and not get tired . . .

RFTR – Not as much as you think.

Dorkelina – Oh, you’re just pissed because I’m hot now, and you missed the boat. ;)

Lookin’ good! My son in law lost 40+ pounds this past winter and is determined to keep it off. My daughter wanted to do the same, but she is pregnant. She’s mad.

    What about the fights?

Old NFO – Badger certainly didn’t. 49 saves on 54 shots is incredible.

Admiral – Partly. I was pissed off because we lost – I hate losing – but it was more exhausted face than grim face.

    Ky person – Thank you!

Doghouse – None. They were too damned fast to catch! There was only one penalty in the entire game. Fairly clean.
